Bowen’s Creek UMC is a small mountain church, with only a handful of members, but don’t let her size fool you.
On the fourth Sunday of each September, we host a Memorial Service with attendance averaging about 125. This service is different than you may think. This service is kind of a family reunion for those who have lost loved ones in the community. Just think of it, the FAMILY OF GOD together as one. There are United Methodists, United Baptists, Pentecostals, Church of God, Church of Christ, and the list goes on, all gathered together in one building to remember the past, to fellowship in the present, and to celebrate life eternal in Christ. . As the families gather together, they invite their home church pastors to take part in the service.
As the pastor it is a joy to share the pulpit with brothers in Christ who preach the Word to bring unity in the family and in the body of Christ.
