Greetings to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are John, Stacia, Michael, and Madison Carwell, serving as Associates In Missions in the Red Bird Missionary Conference.
God has begun a great work in us and with us, and we know that He will be faithful to complete it as we continue to serve where He has placed us.
John
I have been serving the Jack’s Creek UMC and Bowen’s Creek UMC since June 1, 2005. I am currently a Licensed Full-time Local Pastor and am currently working through the Candidacy process in order to become an Elder. I am attending the Appalachian Local Pastors School (ALPS) and plan to continued through the Course of Study at the Duke School of Divinity.
Before coming to the Red Bird Missionary Conference I graduated from Johnson Bible College with a B.S. in Biblical Studies and Telecommunications. After graduation I worked with the Dollywood Corporation as their Training and Development Coordinator. After receiving the call into the ministry I pastored two non-denominational Christian Churches in Harlan County, Kentucky for 11 years. While serving these churches I became involved in the Southeastern Kentucky Emmaus Community where I met my wife Stacia (Dial). From the interaction in Emmaus with members of the RBMC I fell in love with their “methods” of reaching and serving the peoples of Southeastern Kentucky and began to pursue (with the support of Stacia and her family) the opportunity to serve in the RBMC.
Stacia
I came to Red Bird Mission with my parents in 1987. My father, Craig Dial, was to serve as supervisor in Retail Operations and my mother, Karen, came to be manager of the craft store. I attended Red Bird Mission School and graduated, Salutatorian of my class, in 1997. I went on to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. While in college I worked with the Wesley Foundation on campus in organizing a Christian outreach to students going to the bars on the weekends. I worked with the Red Bird Mission Work Camp as a crew leader while in between college semesters. After graduating I worked with the Craft Program, traveling to churches with craft shows, for four years. While pregnant with Madison I transferred to Community Outreach where I serve as the Family Ministries Outreach Manager. My mother is now a local pastor in the Red Bird Missionary Conference, my father is the Director of Economic Opportunity and my brother is serving in Washington State with the U.S. Navy.
