About our outreach
Faith Ministries began in 1983 as an outreach in Beattyville. It started as work with children living in a low income housing unit. It was directed under the leadership of a lay couple community workers. Form the beginning adults in the community as well as New Springs United Methodist Church served as an active advisory board. New Springs was very supportive and instrumental in the work being done with these children. Faith outreach was operated out of the home of the lay couple and "The Shed." The Shed was a small building behind the residence and was a favorite place of the children to gather. Eventually work teams assisted in constructing a church building on the property which is now Faith Outreach Ministry.
