About the church
Sunday School began at Lower Beech Fork in the early 1920's in the one room school house. In 1928 Red Bird Mission started church services. In the early 50's, it was the desire of the congregation to build a new church. One Sunday morning, the adult SS class had a lesson about the Joash box and how it was used in the Old Testament. The idea came about that this could be used in the door each morning before church and the people would drop money into the box. That was the beginning of the building fund.

In 1958, work was begun. The men and young people of the community did all the labor. The church was dedicated in September, 1958, debt free. As of 2010, 13 pastors have served the Lower Beech Fork UMC. Many should have been saved and nurtured in this community church. The church building has continued to be upgraded by the people of the church. They are mission minded congregation who reached out in the community and beyond to offer the love of Christ.

In the past eight years, they have not only hosted work teams to work on homes in the community, but have also sent out VIM teams to Cherokee, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Nicaragua. "To God be the glory great things He has done."
