Ed and Kathy Farmer first came to Hope Church
and to the Red Bird Missionary Conference in
1974. Their call came through a little article in
the Red Bird Notes, the predecessor of
The Cardinal, titled “Is God Calling You to the
Red Bird Missionary Conference?” They served
Hope Church for seven years, and then served
Manchester Church for three years.
In 1984 they returned to the East Ohio Conference
where they served two different appointments for a total of 16 years. They returned to Hope Church in June of 2000.
Ed is a native of Virginia, and Kathy a native of Ohio. They met at Asbury College, of which they are both graduates, and were married on July 22, 1966. Ed is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary.
Kathy taught elementary grades in school for several years. She now applies her teaching skills to teaching Sunday School, which she has done throughout their ministry.
