Lothair UMC
Pastor Dan Griffiths

About our church...

Lothair UMC was founded around
1909 as a Methodist
Church in Perry
County.  Currently the church is pro-
viding a ministry to local children and youth with a center, R.O.C.K. (Reaching Our Community Kids), to gather in a safe place one night a week.

Transforming lives...transforming communities...

Two different women with two different needs.  Jane is an alcoholic and Tammy is the wife of an alcoholic.  Jane attends the Combs UMC whereas Tammy attends the Lothair UMC.

When the Red Bird Missionary Conference offered training in a program from Turning Point Ministries called Living Free for life controlling problems, Tammy and her pastor took the training so they could provide help for the growing epidemic of drug abuse in the Hazard area.

The following year she and her pastor led an Insight Group at the Combs church.  Jane attended and found a new sense of purpose - to reach out to the Combs community addicts and their families in Lifeline Ministries.

Tammy works with youth at the R.O.C.K. and Jane is working with others trapped in addition.  Both are growing in their faith, stretching their wings, and trusting God to lead them where he wants to take them.
