Rev. Charles Jack
Charles Jack is the pastor of the Jacks Creek and Bowens Creek charge. Charles wife Betsy is the Director of Early Childhood Development and teacher for the Red Bird Mission. Charles and Betsy have six children. James is an elementary teacher in Berea, KY. Annie is a teacher and homemaker in Paradise, CA. David is a Union Glazier, journeyman, in Livermore, CA. Ezra is a student at the University of Kentucky, Molly is a student at Berea College and Teddy is in high school here at Red Bird Mission School. Charles and Betsy are blessed with three grandchildren, Asher, Rylan, and Alice.

Charles and Betsy came to the Red Bird Missionary Conference in 1986 from the West Ohio Conference. They saw an ad for mission pastors wanted in the Cardinal Newsletter; God called us and led us here. They served at Beverly UMC, Beech Fork and Lower Beech Fork UMC and now as Conference Superintendent and pastor of the Jacks and Bowens Creek charge. Betsy, during those years served as a church and community worker, head start teacher and now ECD Director. They received training with General Board Global Ministries after arriving at Red Bird Missionary Conference and were commissioned as Home Missionaries in January 1987.

Their biggest adventure in mission service has been sharing our lives with the folds of this area. Sharing their struggles and following God leading in ministry is at the hart of our mission vocation. They are passionate about God's way for them here in the mountains, being faithful, engaging the lives of children and families, touching lives and sharing God's love in our daily walk.

Charles says that his most memorable moments have been listening to the stories and conversations of local persons, especially in their own homes, as they share deeply from their hearts about their lives.
