Shirley Ann Walker is the conference accounting assistant. She attended Leslie County High school and then Union College. Shirley is married to Lindon Walker and they have a blended family of eight children. Shirley is used to large families as she is one of fifteen siblings. Their boys are Michael who is attending EKU, is in the army and has a daughter. Daniel attends Red Bird High school; Adam is a father and lives in Indiana. Shawn attends Clay County High School. David sadly passed away when he was sixteen. Their daughters are Brandy who lives and works in Indiana and is the mother of four boys. Sonja lives at home and works in Barbourville. Ashley lives in Manchester and is the mother of a little girl.

Shirley believes that coming to the Red Bird Missionary Conference was a gift from God. Judy Fowler told her about the job and sent her an application. "My husband and I prayed about the job for several weeks. Then driving home form work one day I heard a voice telling me that I something to do. I went home that day and filled out the application and had an interview with Chuck Jack and Judy and God placed me here."

Shirley says that her largest struggle is always listening to God; however, she is very passionate about the work she is doing here because she lives the people and believes that work is being done through her. Shirley feels that her favorite thing about the Red Bird Missionary Conference is prayer. "I really enjoy the prayer circle time, this brings people closer, and that makes this place friendlier and more family then coworkers." She loves the Red Bird Missionary Conference "because RBMC serves the people through the ministry, teaching as well as showing what God's love is all about."
